I am Zinta Aistars, a bilingual writer—Latvian and English—a citizen of two countries, but also a global citizen. I am passionate about many things, and you will find a few of the causes, people, art forms which move me most here, among these online pages.

I can’t remember a time when words were not my guiding light. Perhaps growing up with two languages and two cultures intensified this love of words—I am confident it did. Language, especially in the form of literature, is a means of connecting to others, but most intensely for the writer with herself, and with the sacred inside us all.

You’ll find here a few of my works. Many more can be found elsewhere in the virtual and real world. I make my living as a professional writer and editor and feel blessed to do so. I also write creatively: poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, travel essays from my many journeys, and blogs. And, I write book reviews.
